Here’s a preview of part of a new song in progress for our next record:
I’m proud to announce that BACKMASK is on Spotify! Listen now.
In other news, we’re still forging ahead with new music in our spare time. Between Recabinet and Eric’s coveted casino job, we’re both pretty busy these days, but we have 3 new songs almost finished.

Welcome to the new Backmask website! After a couple of years off to focus on starting my business, I’m happy to be restarting the band with the mighty Eric Eskelson on bass, and we’ll be posting updates more regularly.

A bonus for the fans who’ve been waiting for new Backmask material – here’s our first proper instrumental, entitled “Arrival.”
This is a random free bonus track for the hell of it, and may not appear on our next album, at least not in this form. Enjoy!

Thought Experiment will be joining Blacklisted and New Revelation as Track of the Week at GarageBand.com!!!
Check it out all starting Monday June 18th here.
In addition to this great news, New Revelation has advanced to the 4th round of the contest and is currently ranked #33 out of 388 metal songs. The other songs are also doing very well:
Thought Experiment #36 (Round 3)
Blacklisted #42 (Round 3)
Frozen in Apathy #50 (Round 3)
Escape Velocity #129 (Round 1)
Prisoner of Mind #94 (Round 1)
Yet again, we get to enjoy announcing that the reviewers at garageband.com are finding our music praiseworthy! We just entered Prisoner of Mind and Escape Velocity into the contest last week and they already will be Tracks of the Day (both of them)!!!
This now makes 8/8 songs entered to be chosen as Track of the Day. Add that our 2 (that’s right, 2!) Track of the Weeks, and this is turning out to be a great first half of the year!
We’ve also just added another Velvet Jones show for you here in Santa Barbara.
That’s right!!!!
2 of our songs are now Track of the Week at Garageband.com for the Metal Genre. “Blacklisted” now joins “New Revelation” in the domination! This kicks serious ass. There are only 52 weeks a year, and we’ve already taken 2 of them ourselves!
Spread the word!
BACKMASK
That’s right. We will be opening for Threat Signal in Hollywood on July 18th!

We are also in talks with a special guest to set up a series of shows. We’ll keep you informed, but I can assure you, you’ll be more than happy.
After receiving mass amounts of rave reviews, “New Revelation” is Song of the Week and “Blacklisted” is Song of the Day! Check it out!
